As mentioned before, I’ve been in self-isolation for what feels like a VERY, very long time (19 days to be exact, since I traveled back from Italy). SO, I’ve really been trying to find new ways to use my time. Of course, it’s hard to be literally doing something every second of every day, so when I’m ready to take a break from other things (ex: running, reading, writing, drawing, tanning, baking, etc.), I, like most people in the world, enjoy relaxing and watching Netflix. When I was in Italy, I got really into the show Suits; HOWEVER, American Netflix does not stream this amazing show, so I was “forced” to pick something new. I’ve already been through several rounds of the typical binge-y shows like Gossip Girl, Friends (rip), The Office, The Carrie Diaries, 90210…(you know where I’m headed). Alas, I’ve been trying to find something new to watch! Here are some good, short series that I’ve found so far…(but if you haven’t watched any of the previously mentioned binge-y shows, don’t look further. Watch those first.)
Love Is Blind. I was tbh skeptical at first because people were hyping it up all over social media and comparing it to The Bachelor. As a major fan of The Bachelor myself, I was like, no chance this could be AS dramatic. I was wrong! This show is legit AND only has a couple episodes, so there’s no bs.
Cheer. Also was skeptical at first bc I was a little sus that it was a real-life docu-series. I’m a big fan of Bring It On, so I was not expecting as much drama since the people are all real, but the competition is LEGIT. Like I felt so dialed into cheer after watching this show lol. The coach is a bad betch and all the teammates are so cute and determined (and ripped AF). 10/10 would recommend.
Instant Hotel. Hear me out on this one (and ask Hayes, Sophie, and/or Char). I’ve always had a thing for architecture/design/fashion competition shows, so I decided to give IH a try. First off, the characters are all Australian, so the accents are on fleek. Second, there is sorrr much tea to be spilled throughout each season. You will NOT regret giving this show a shot during quarantine.
Schitt’s Creek. I feel like this show has received the hype it deserves, finally! Scope it ASAP (highly recommend watching with the whole fam). It seriously is hilarious and the writing is so on point.
Selling Sunset. Ok idk HOW I came across this show, but if you’re in the mood for more tea/drama, check it out. It’s also super short and gives me RHOBH vibes.
YOU. Everyone knows this show is good, so hopefully you’ve already seen it. It def gets creep at times, so I don’t recommend watching if you live alone.
