Hi people! Not that I’m an influencer by literally any means...but since being home from abroad, I’ve wanted to start blogging my opinions, ideas, practices, secrets ;), etc. So! Here we go.
Since the winter season/colder months is an especially difficult period of time for my skin, I’ve really gotten into a set daily routine. Without the sun and salt water to clear my skin naturally (shout out Pacific Ocean in the summertime!), I needed to find a new, more effective way to take care of my skin. Ladies and gentlemen, I present to you my super complicated, hard-to-follow skincare routine~
Cetaphil Face Wash Every day, sometimes twice a day, I wash my face with this amazingly refreshing face soap. It’s so rare and sophisticated, I think it might be hard to find at your local store, so I’ve linked it here. [Sidenote, I literally had to pay €35 for it in Italy when I ran out a few weeks ago.] Anywho, I straight up live by this face wash because it’s simple, cheap, and makes me feel extra clean! Also, pro-tip if you don’t immediately shower after working out or going to the beach or just getting sweaty in general, Wash. Your. Face. It’ll make you feel a million times fresher and your skin will thank you!
Rose Quartz Face Roller Another thing I like to do everyday is scuplt/de-puff my face using a face roller. I personally prefer the rose quartz ones, but I have also heard that jade rollers work just as well. Last summer, I did PR for a fancy face roller company, so I learned a lot about the benefits of this practice, as well as how to pick out the perfect roller. I didn’t spend much on my roller from amazon.com, linked here, and I’m honestly obsessed. I usually try to de-puff right after I wake up in the morning and right before I go to bed. Not only does the practice of face-rolling smooth and tighten your skin, it also eases stress in the jaw area. Highly recommend getting if you don’t already have.
CeraVe Moisturizing Cream Once again, every morning and night I put on this moisturizer. It’s especially amazing because it has SPF, so that’s a win win! I honestly just started using moisturizer like 2 years ago, and it totally changed the game for my skin, particularly in these drier, winter months. It’s not expensive, nor hard-to-find, so basically it checks all the boxes. :) I usually wait until after I’ve used my face roller before applying moisturizer because I don’t want the roller to get super oily.
Rose Water Facial Toner Trader Joe’s really came in clutch with this product. Tbh I’m not such a huge expert on what it does for my skin, but it just feels/smells really good and fresh. I typically spritz my face a few times before leaving the house in the morning and before getting in bed at night. Also it’s only like $4, so thanks Trader Joe. Love you!
Origins Clear Improvement Charcoal Mask Okay, the last thing I like to do for my skin once in a while (NOT everyday) is to clear out my pores with a charcoal clay mask of some sort. I randomly acquired a ton of Origins samples at work last year and they’ve lasted me until now, so my skin has been stoked. I really like the way the mask feels and how easy it is to wash off, but I’m sure there are less-expensive options out there! I’ll try some others and get back to you on that.
So there you have it. My incredibly detailed skincare routine. Btw, this is all pre-makeup obviously, so I’ll try to keep up and do a post on that soon.
