How to become a pro-social distancer xx hh

Not to brag, but I’ve already completed a travel quarantine for the past 2 weeks. Some could say I’m a seasoned “quarantiner”. Is that a word? Well now it is (bc that’s me)! Kidding, but in all seriousness, I have been getting pretty good at finding ways to make myself busy during this time of “self-distancing”. Here are a few things that have helped me be more productive when I’m WFH, as well as things that I’ve found help pass the time…

  • Work out. I have really been trying to get at least 30 minutes to an hour of a workout sesh in every single day. Seriously, sweating not only makes me feel better during the day, but it also aids in my overall mental wellbeing. As evident by the super uncertain and weird times we’re going through rn, it’s super easy to get anxious. Working out is always a good way to distract yourself from external problems :). Since all gyms and fitness studios are closed at the moment, I have been switching off between doing at-home workouts (shoutout Katie Austin again!!!!) and going for long runs/walks outside (when the weather allows).

  • Pick up a hobby. (aka writing! Like a blog maybe? lol) But for real, I’ve been reading & writing a TON, drawing, sewing, taking lots of pictures while on my runs--basically doing things that make me happy! Also, not ashamed to say it, but I’ve fully been learning tiktok dances, as well as simply getting lost in my social media feeds. It happens. Gotta stay current!

  • Sit on the front deck. (when the weather permits it). I absolutely love love love being in the sun, and when it becomes difficult to get outside, due to these quarantine rules, I feel antsy for some sun. Luckily these past few weeks have seen a lot of sunshine, so literally whenever it comes through my window, I race outside in my bikini to soak up as much as possible! I’m most comfortable and happy when in the sun.

  • Rock your best comfies. Though I’ve never admitted it before, I’m actually a sucker for any opportunity to wear sweatshirts/sweatpants. It’s so nice to not be in tight clothes 24/7, so I’m fully enjoying being able to wear whatever I want, whenever I want. Plus, there are some super cute two-piece cozy sets avail at literally any online store rn.

  • Do some spring cleaning. As they say, “there’s no time like the present” so why the heck not do some cleaning? For me, cleaning always eases anxiety and flips my mood upside down! Waking up, doing work, or eating meals in a clean room is 10000x better than doing so in a cluttered mess, so I plan on doin’ some cleanin’ ASAP.

  • Listen to music or podcasts daily. The Morning Toast is and always will be my all-time favorite daily podcast. It’s seriously so beyond fire and just amazing! Jackie and Claudia legit give me something to look forward to everyday and I’m so obsessed with them. They brighten up my day, and truthfully, who could say no to some humor in these trying times?!

  • TALK TO FRIENDS. This is pretty self-explanatory. Just check up on your friends please!! It’s so weird not being able to physically hang out with people, but it’s so important to keep in touch.
